On Monday night he defeated Darryl Moscatt in three straight. By the luck of the draw on Thursday he faced the same opponent in what was a hard fought encounter with just the one point between them when Malouf got home 15-13 in the fifth. With only a couple of rounds to go the coming finals should prove to be very interesting.
In other matches on Monday a big hitting match between Matt Argall and Rhys Edwards saw Edwards cross the line 9-6 in the fifth while Gavin Pennell defeated Gary Smith in three straight moving him up to the second rung.
Thursday night competition saw Steve Malouf's win hold his second place behind Moscatt followed by Leigh Halloran who defeated Larissa Collins 3-1 with Matt Donoghue on the fourth rung after a 3-1 win over Tim O'Loughlin.
Old Bar Squash's second division has two co-leaders in Wayne Unger and Toni Vause.
Unger defeated Peter Cubbin 15-10 in the fifth while Vause went down to Graham Roberts 15-13 in the fifth.
