The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service returned to Manning Hospital, with the John Hunter Hospital medical retrieval team, shortly after midnight on Monday, January 13 to stabilise a 77-year old patient.
The man suffered serious head injuries in a fall.
He was transported to John Hunter Hospital for further specialist treatment.

A 74-year-old was transported to John Hunter Hospital, Newcastle in a serious condition following a quad bike accident at Kimbriki on Sunday, January 12.
Just before 12.30pm Sunday, January 12 the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by Ambulance New South Wales to reports of a man with serious injuries after his quad bike rolled on a rural property at Kimbriki, south west of Taree.
Initial reports were that the 74-year-old was suffering from serious head injuries. He was treated at the scene by local Ambulance Paramedic prior to the arrival the helicopter and its critical care medical team.
He was further treated and stabilised by the critical care medical team before being flown direct to the John Hunter Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
Later on Sunday the Westpac Rescue Helicopter transported a 74-year-old woman suffering from a serious medical condition from Manning Hospital to the John Hunter Hospital.
