My real outdoor temperature reading Saturday, January 4, in the sun, where most of us have to venture at least sometime during the day, recorded a maximum of 52.6 degrees Celsius. Far too hot for man or beast, or anything else.

Question: Why is it that only the somewhat pampered shade temperature is the only one quoted, which only amounts to half of the real story?
Anyone would realise it is hotter in the sun than hiding away in the shade somewhere, normally averaging at least, at least, 10 degrees higher in the summertime. Some have said that they thought that both would be the same. Now, really, why do we head for a sunny spot in the wintertime, and evade the sun like the plague in the summer heat?
Because we only receive the shade temperature in reports, some could be lulled into believing that the other 50 per cent of the story must be under some kind of taboo, and cannot be mentioned.
Wrong! What do you think?
