Racing was split into seven classes and qualifying started at 1.30pm to determine pole positions.
Three pole awards, sponsored by the Caldon Group, went to Jy Lynn, Brad Caldon and Chris Bregongie. On the flip side Greg Moore, Aaron Wasley and Holley Holden-Stewart all lost a wheel in qualifying and had to start at the back in the first two heats.
Racing began qualifying around 2.30pm with the fastest qualifier in novice, Luca Wasley, showing his class from Christiaan Chateau in all four races.
In senior performance heavy the two Buchanan brothers locked out the front row with Greg Moore and Aaron Wasley starting on row five. The Buchanan brothers weren't headed in the first heat. It was similar in heat two with Wasley making it to third from the rear of grid.
Action was hot in the third heat with the brothers taking on Wasley, who put on some great moves under brakes into the first corner to secure the win in the heat three and then the final. Wasley was presented with the driver of the meeting award.
There were five drivers in junior light with Cooper Barnes putting his kart on pole. Racing was hard and tough with no quarter given.
Last year's winner Riley Rouse started poorly in qualifying and things didn't get any better with a broken kart in heat three, ruling him out of the final.
Newcastle's Lawson Latham was coming off a win in his club championship, but the final went to Jamie Newton from Barnes and Latham.
Six drivers battled out junior performance, where the Dave Hamnett junior trophy was decided.
Jy Lynn was under heavy attack from the start in heats one and two from Sam Tattersall and Kia Morgan.
A first turn incident in the final gave Tattersall free air and open a 15 kart gap at the halfway mark and this proved decisive. Latham made a late charge to finish second with Kia Morgan third.
Five drivers battled out senior performance light in four tough races.
Riley Collins won from Caleb Diclaudio with Holly Holden-Stewart third.
Tag restricted light was once again the largest class with 14 karters.
Chris Bregongie showed a clean set of wheels, winning by 10 seconds followed by the locals Royce Sutherland and Todd Stocks.
The last class was the 4ss, attracting a field of 12 karts, with drivers coming from Queensland.
This class is all about winding the rubber band up and slip streaming while not losing momentum.
In the final a breakaway group of four drivers, Brad Caldon, Scott Pearce, Royce Sutherland and Sam Taylor battled out for the win over the 15 laps. The lead changed every lap with bump drafting, side drafting and late braking moves all on show. Caldon was the eventual winner from Sutherland and Pearce.
Racing finished around 9pm under lights.
