With the club being used as an evacuation centre and the threat of bushfires looming, the Sub-branch held a low-key ceremony on Monday, November 11.
The ceremony was appreciated by those who attended, including evacuees staying at the centre.
Darcy Elbourne was tasked with master of ceremony duties, the ode and wreath laying ceremony. Vice president Dulcie Balderston and treasurer Harry Sinclair also featured in the ceremony.
The Sub-branch confirmed a full ceremony, at a date yet to be confirmed, will include the Club Taree Band Ensemble, piper John Andrews, the 28 Australian Army Cadet Unit and 317 Squadron RAAF Cadet Unit.
Meanwhile, Sub-branch fund raising efforts have been worthwhile since a statewide ban of the practice was lifted in June.
More than $2500 has been raised for welfare of local veterans.
