When Level 1 restrictions were imposed on September 2, MidCoast Council warned that tighter restrictions, possibly Level 4, may become necessary in October. Level 4 would see the banning of all outdoor water use.
However council has decided to introduce Level 3 'very high water' restrictions from next week.
Very high restrictions will restrict outdoor water use to 10 minutes every second day, using hand-held hoses before 9am or after 4pm. If your house number is an even number, water on the even days of the month; for houses with odd numbers, water on the odd days of the month, and there's no watering at all on the 31st day of any month.
Topping up of swimming pools will be banned.
