At Johnny Martin Oval Taree West won the toss and decided to bat in the clash against Port City Leagues.
Taree wouldn't have been too happy with the way thing went as they lost wickets regularly and were bowled out for 149 in just 35 overs.
Clint Simpson with 34, Zac Sheather 31 and skipper Josh Meldrum (35) all made starts but unfortunately the team needed one of them to go on and make a match defining total.
Spinner Jason Swain was the chief destroyer taking four wickets while Josh Felton and Zac Jones both chipped in with two wickets each.
Sean Minns then continued his good form belting 84 not out, with eight fours and three sixes. Luke Boxhall opened up with Minns and offered good support to compile a well earned 50. The Magpies chased down the target only losing one wicket and finished the game off during the 26th over.
At Andrews Park United won the toss and sent Wauchope in on a good looking deck.
Nathan Lyon continues to score runs at will and after last season must be considered unlucky to have not pushed for North Coast selection. Lyon compiled a majestic 91 off only 87 balls with other players chipping in - Lindsay Hopper 30, Ethan McKenna 22 and Andrew Murrel 19 not out in what was an imposing 7/205 after their allotted 40 overs.
The Taree combination started strongly and were going hard early with numerous players making starts, but the star of the show was wicket keeper Brock Hynes with 77. Hynes was well supported by Andrew Pin with 38 as United chased the total down in the 38th over with the loss of eight wickets. Tony Brown with 3/34 and Matt Day with 2/35 were the pick of the bowlers.
Wingham defeated Rovers in the other game. There are no further details from the game.
