Just after 4pm on Sunday, October 13, the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service was tasked to Taree Showground following reports of an accident.
A 24-year-old man received serious pelvis injuries in a heavy collision during the derby. He was treated at the scene by paramedics.
He was further stabilised by the helicopter critical care medical team and was transported to hospital in a serious but stable condition.
