At about 8.30pm on Sunday, September 29, the helicopter was called to search for the boys, aged 15 and 16, who had set off earlier in the day.
The boys had all essential equipment such as an emergency beacon, which was activated once their phone batteries had run out.
Once they were located, a helicopter paramedic was winched down. Each boy was placed in an air rescue vest and were extricated one at a time into the aircraft.
The helicopter hovered about 57 metres above the location due to the terrain.
The aircraft landed near Gloucester Hospital and returned the boys to their families with no injuries to report.
