This year's Billy Cart Derby promises to be the biggest one yet with a large contingent from Wingham Soccer Club joining the senior division attempting to go faster than the Mooral Creek Mongrels (last year's winner).
Brayden Turner, 2018 champion, will join more than 70 juniors also taking on the course in the junior division.
You don't need a billy cart to participate, the Mount George P&C has some available for the public to use.
Registration is from 9am-12pm and racing will commence shortly after.
"A big thank you to Wingham Tigers Rugby League Club, who have very generously donated prizemoney for the winners of the Junior and Senior Division and a huge thank you to Lyle Turner who handcrafts the winning trophies," Peter Falla said.
The Back to Mount George Festival has plenty to offer -listen to the Dingo Creek String Band, grab a coffee from Bean About Espresso and some lunch from the Rotary barbecue serving up steaks straight from Wingham Beef Exports. The kids can enjoy an ice cold beverage from Tropical Snowcones or an ice cream from the Ice Cream Van while you browse the art exhibition featuring Mrs Dejamoo and the Ghindaring preview. There will also be tickets on sale for the Mount George screening of The Ghindaring and Yowie Festival in October.
There will be more than 20 specialty market stalls to browse through from home made candles, jams and relishes, collectables, toys, scholastic books, plants, knitted wears, fabric, flowers and much more.
If cars and motorbikes are more your thing check out the car show, featuring vintage motorcycles and cars, and cast a vote in the people's choice competition.
Finally, a real highlight of the morning is the orange rolling competition for drought relief and a favourite amongst the kids - the flossing competition.
"So come out to the picturesque Mount George valley and enjoy a fun day for the whole family," Peter said.
