The two-hour think tank sessions are part of the first stage of a community-led planning process, aimed at bringing people together to start a conversation about how they would like to see their communities evolve into the future, and identify and prioritise the activities that will help them to get there.
The Community Planning process is currently being undertaken in Wingham and Gloucester, and while the plans will ultimately be owned and driven by the local community, support and guidance will be provided by MidCoast Council's engagement team along the way.
"Local people are the experts when it comes to their own communities, so in this first stage it's important for everyone to come together and collaborate on what's important for the future of their home town," explained council's Paul De Szell.
The initial phase commences for the Wingham community with two family-friendly think tank sessions, to be held at Wingham Services Club on Monday 16 September (10am - 12pm) and Tuesday 17 September (6pm - 8pm).
For those who can't make it, a short survey is available to complete online at www.midcoast.nsw.gov.au/LCP.
