Making their debut at this year's popular annual event will be Sweet 'n Swampy an acoustic duo comprised of Margaret Rew and John Melville, who will be playing a mix of alternate country, roots rock and bluesy good time tunes played with a nice sweet 'n swampy feel.
Between them, Margaret and John have notched up many years in the music industry, performing in a number of bands, supported names such as Brian Cadd and The Bull Sisters and they continue to entertain audiences up and down the coast.
Back for a second year will be another popular local band The Workshop, well known for putting a raucous edge on many a well-known musical style.
The Workshop regularly perform at a number of local venues and festivals and some band members have shared the stage with Aussie icons such as Midnight Oil, INXS, Cold Chisel, Bill Chambers and Jenny Morris.
Last year, Killabakh's iconic Red Cedar Band reformed to christen the newly built Entertainment Shed and enjoyed the experience so much that they are back again!
Red Cedar Band was formed more than 20 years ago by a group of friends sitting around a bonfire in Killabakh. Their infectious and easy-going country/bush/folk style of music has been enjoyed across the region at a host of dances, weddings, and private functions.
"I'm really pleased not only with the calibre of musicians performing this year, but also the variety of sounds and styles that will be heard", music coordinator, Darren Swannack commented.
Killabakh's 2019 Day in the Country will be held on Saturday, September 7 from 10am - 3pm, just 16km north of Wingham along Comboyne Road.
