And this year will be no different. The move away from traditional sit-down meals to simpler 'street fare' several years ago proved to be a winner with visitors - and the best feedback has been a sold-out kitchen.
This year's kitchen menu includes lamb shawarma wraps, Thai fishcakes, falafel wraps, chicken massaman curry and traditional sandwiches.
Local baking legend, Les Rose, will once again be supervising the production of more than 400 homemade pies and sausage rolls with flavours including plain, curry, chunky beef and stout, chicken and vegetable and spinach and feta.
Kitchen coordinator Chris Willey is always looking for new ideas for the food on offer, adding new flavours to the tried and tested menu.
"Over the past few years we have created an exciting menu which has proven to be very popular and where possible we always use locally sourced ingredients." Chris said.
The barbecue boys will also be cooking up their usual hearty fare which includes Rudi's kransky sausages, Scotch fillet steak sandwiches, local egg &and bacon rolls, sausages and rissoles.
Killabakh Café' combines the Devonshire teas and desserts under one roof and hosts a great range of delicious homemade treats. A range of drinks will also available including Saxby's famous ginger beer and ginger lime and bitters as well as tea and coffee, with coffee vans also onsite.
Killabakh's Day in the Country'will be held on Saturday, September 7, 10am - 3pm, just 16km north of Wingham along Comboyne Road. Entry is by gold coin donation which provides the visitor with the day's program of events as well as the opportunity to win a raffle prize. This event is proudly sponsored by MidCoast Council.
A great day out for all the family is assured with more than 50 stalls, pony rides, the scarecrow competition with prizes donated by Bunnings Taree, an art exhibition featuring top quality works, delicious food, plenty of seating and live music performed throughout the day including The Workshop, Sweet 'n Swampy and the Red Cedar Band!
