"It's the first time we've had good weather for the cup in five years,'' Manning Valley Race Club chairman Greg Coleman said.
The Stacks Lawk Firm Taree Gold Cup carried a record $100,000 in prizemoney. It was won by the Hogmanay, trained by Chris Waller and ridden by Tommy Berry.
This was the first Taree Cup win for both Waller and Berry and the first time Berry has ridden at Taree in seven years.
Australian test cricketer Steve Smith is a member of the syndicate the races Hogmanay.
Mr Coleman said the club was generally happy with the two day carnival, although he suggested the program could be tweaked slightly for next year.
