The sides headed to Manning Hockey Centre on Monday, August 12 to take on Taree West Public School.
Taree West had to pull double duties, taking on Bolwarra Public School (from the Maitland area) before their matches with Gloucester.
The girls headed into the Gloucester clash 7-0 winners.
The boys match went down to the wire, with Taree West claiming the win in extra time after the score were locked at the final whistle.
Nothing separated the Gloucester and Taree West girls when they took the field in the decider.
The thrilling match went into double extra time after a penalty shot was converted after full time.
It seemed Taree West ran out of legs in the end and lost in golden goal.
Both sides had to play with seven players for this portion of the match instead of the regulation 11.
Gloucester boys kept the momentum up to topple Taree West and advance to the next stage of the competition.
With the wins, Gloucester will meet the winner of the North Coast knockout draw for a spot in the preliminary finals.
