Taree and District Vintage and Classic Motorcycle Club will be back after a long absence with more than a dozen much loved beauties on display, joined by the De Olde Nabiac Klub (DONK) with a display of historic machinery and stationary engines.
Taree and District Vintage and Classic Motorcycle Club was formed 38 years ago and is supported by a group of passionate members.
The motorcycles for display were manufactured from the 1920's through to the modern era, including classics produced in the UK, USA and Japan. Club president Ken Hoad will have his prized Indian Motorcycle on display, at one time the largest manufacturer of motorcycles in the world.
"I'm delighted to be back at Killabakh, sharing our motorcycles with other enthusiasts and supporting the good work done by the local community", Ken said.
The club regularly exhibits at events across the region, giving support and raising money for local charities.
De Olde Nabiac Klub (DONK), an old engine and vehicle restoration group, will also be exhibiting items from their collection including Fred Wheeler's old Lister diesel engine and Ken Smith's collection of stationary engines.
The club has more than 30 members and they have a passion for collecting anything old and mechanical.
DONK secretary, Bruce Weller commented that the members enjoy sharing their collection with the public, regularly putting on displays at events around the Manning and Great Lakes.
Killabakh's Day in the Country will be held on Saturday, September 7, from 10am - 3pm, 16km north of Wingham along Comboyne Road.
Entry is by gold coin donation which provides the visitor with the day's program of events as well as the opportunity to win a raffle prize. This event is proudly sponsored by MidCoast Council.
A great day out for all the family is assured with more than 50 stalls, pony rides, the scarecrow competition with prizes donated by Bunnings Taree, an art exhibition featuring top quality works, delicious food, plenty of seating and live music performed throughout the day including The Workshop, Sweet 'n Swampy and the Red Cedar Band!
