The workshops will focus on infections disease issues for local landholders and how to prevent them.
"It is really important information on diseases that are spreadable from animals to humans, such as hendra virus in horses, lyssavirus, and nipah virus, which is a new one which is going through Asia and Africa," Manning Landcare co-ordinator, Lyn Booth said.
Participants will also learn how to minimise the risk of zoonotic (spreadable from animals to humans) diseases, and antibiotic resistance and how to improve longevity of life-saving antibiotics.
Presenters will be Paddy Cashman of Hunter New England Local Health District, district vet Dr Lyndell Stone and flying fox ecologist Peggy Eby.
The Wingham workshop is being held on Wednesday, August 28 from 9am to 12.30pm, and at Coolongolook on Thursday, August 22 from 9am to 12.30pm.
