In the video, MidCoast Stories' Penny Teerman visits the grave of Richard Stoddart, who died in 1905 from a heart attack.
The grave is unique, as it's the only one located away from the main cemetery area.
"It's a lonely grave, but wasn't a lonely death," Penny said.
Born in Scotland in 1859 before a move to Australia, Richard worked as a prospector in the mining areas near Copeland.
He later worked at the Chatham Limestone Quarry and lived in Taree.
While dancing at Taree's Belmore Hall as part of a fundraiser for the Manning District Hospital, Richard collapsed and died.
As there were no known relatives here, his friends and work colleagues arranged his burial at Woola Woola Cemetery and his possessions were auctioned at Taree Court House.
