Trafford, from Taree won the decider 3-0. Collins, from Forster, the defending champion, went into the two day event as the the top seed and favourite to make it back-to-back wins. However, Trafford had other ideas, scoring a 3-0 win in the final.
"John played well all weekend,'' spokesman for the organisers, Simon Magin said.
Trafford defeated Ben Jones in the semi-final with Collins accounting for Ron Vidler in the other semi.
A full field of 32 contested the event. Mr Magin conceded the opening day went longer than anticipated and organisers will look at this when planning starts for the 2020 event.
As was the case last year the tournament was restricted to players from the Manning Snooker Association area and all clubs were represented.
Mr Magin said this will again be the format in 2020.
"It's popular with players and our sponsors,'' he said.
