Lewis broke his hand in the opening 20 minutes of the game against Wauchope last Saturday. The Tigers won the match 20-10, with Lewis scoring an important try just before halftime and seeing out the encounter.
"It's a tough break, we'ree not expecting Kurt back much before the semi-finals,'' Wingham coach Michael Sullivan said.
Sullivan will move versatile Brodie Myer from the wing to the centres to cover for Lewis. He has yet to decide who will come onto the wing, although he has no shortage of options.
Otherwise Wingham will be unchanged from the side that accounted for the Blues in the season's best game at the Wingham Sporting Complex last Saturday.
The Tigers, now outright second, a point clear of Wauchope will tackle Port City on Saturday at Port Macquarie.
The Breakers go into the game after losing last match to Forster-Tuncurry and are on eight points with Forster-Tuncurry, two ahead of sixth placed Port Macquarie.
Sullivan pointed out his side hasn't been on the road since playing Old Bar at Old Bar on May 19.
"That's a bit of a worry, getting used to travelling again,'' he said.
This is also the second week of three matches Sullivan said would be vital to Wingham's chances of snaring a berth in the top two berth. The Tigers player competition leaders Macleay Valley at Wingham on June 29.
"But we can't get too far in front of ourselves,'' Sullivan warned.
"We have to concentrate on this game first. Port's been going along okay even though they were beaten last week and they'll also be stronger at home.
"I know it's cliche, but we have to take it one game at a time.''
The Tigers hadn't won a game when they went into the first round encounter against Port City at Wingham.
They've been unbeaten since.
