The refurbishment will see existing structural issues addressed and a modern upgrade provided to the library's interior.
MidCoast Council libraries manager Chris Jones said the renovation was a great outcome for the Nabiac community.
"The existing library has provided a great local service for over 25 years, so these significant works will ensure it can continue to meet the needs of current and future generations," he said.
The works are scheduled to kick off at the beginning of the third school term in order to minimise disruption to families with children.
"As we did when we renovated Gloucester Library, closing the library allows us to complete the project quickly, while ensuring the safety of library visitors and staff," Mr Jones said.
"We will be excited to re-open the doors on Monday, August 5 to a newly-painted and carpeted facility with contemporary, updated fixtures."
Mr Jones said MidCoast library members are reminded they could borrow up to 20 items for three weeks, and encouraged Nabiac locals to check out items before the facility closed.
The $58,449 grant for the upgrade has been provided through the Create NSW Regional Cultural Fund, which was established by the State government to support the development of cultural infrastructure in regional areas of NSW.
While the library will be operational again from August 5, an official opening will be held later in August to celebrate the newly-refurbished facility.
