This was held in conjunction with Wingham's clash with Wauchope at the Wingham Sporting Complex. Members of the club's 1989 reserve grade also attended. The Tigers lost the reserve grade grand final by two points that year.
Matt Robertson and Geoff Atcheson made their way over from Wagga, while first grade halfback Brian Wilson travelled from Tamworth.
The 1989 first grade player-coach Kim Patrick was a late withdrawal due to a health issue in his family, while prop Tim Welsh was holidaying in Darwin.
Players headed to the Wingham Services Club after the first grade game - won by the Tigers 12-10. The first grade players wore special jumpers similar to the 1989 design for the match. The jumpers were auctioned that night and this realised $8000.
The bar takings for the match topped $6000.
"Usually we take between $2000 and $3000 at the bar, so it was a big day,'' Wingham treasurer Craig Martin said.
