Caitlyn Rodgers thinks her defence was the reason she was named on the wing for the NSW Country under 15 girl's ruby union team to play matches against Queensland and City this year.

Her selection followed the Country championships played at Crescent Head, where Caitlyn was a member of the Mid North Coast Tomahawks side. Caitlyn has been named on the wing.
"I think I was about the only winger there who tried to tackle,'' she said.
"All the rest backed away. That's why they might have picked me''
Caitlyn is the Manning River Times-Iguana Sportstar of the Week, earning a $50 open order at Iguana.
Mid North Coast won two of six games with Caitlyn scoring a couple of tries to add to her defensive efforts.
Caitlyn thought she played okay in the championship, but didn't give much thought to making Country.
"We didn't stay for the team announcement, we'd had enough by then,'' Caitlyn explained.
Caitlyn received a phone call while on the trip home telling her she'd made the team.
She will now head to Sydney for a three day camp with the Country squad before going to Queensland.
The team will then meet again in Newcastle in August to tackle City and from there a NSW under 15s side will be chosen.
Caitlyn was originally selected in the Tomahawks team in January after attending a trial. Her rugby experience had been limited to one game of schoolgirl sevens.
The Country championships at Crescent Head was 10-a-side while Caitlyn understands the matches against Queensland and City will be the traditional 15-a-side. Caitlyn admits she's still coming to terms with the rules.
Caitlyn enjoyed the 10s format.
"They got the ball out to the wing, which was good,'' she said.

However, she's not as sure the attacking opportunities will be as frequent in 15-a-side.
Caitlyn has played rugby league nines with Taree Panthers as a winger. She also shows promise on the athletics track as a 400 and 200 metre runner.
A student at St Clare's High School, Caitlyn was third in the under 14 girls for the 400 metres at the NSW Combined Catholic Colleges Athletic Championships last year, clocking 1.04.82 in the final while she was 11th overall in the 200 metres.
She already qualified for the diocese championships this year and hopes to move through to State from there.
Caitlyn plays for Old Bar in the Manning Netball under 15s and is a member of the Manning 15s to play in the State Age championships in Sydney, where she'll be the centre.
She was also named in the Tomahawks team to play in the State rugby championships the same weekend, but will be opting for netball.
"I was named in the netball side first,'' she explained.
