Around 10-15 people participated in the clean-up, including members of Manning Coast Care, and in an hour and a half, they picked up the following from the breakwall.
- 38 plastic drink bottles
- 32 cans
- 16 bait bags
- 32 disposable coffee cups and plastic cups
- 12 straws
- 20 plastic bags
- 300 metres or more of fishing line
- approximately 280 cigarette butts
The Clean The Coast Tour began in April. Ash, in conjunction with Earth Bottles and Fair Food Forager founder Paul Hellier, are on a mission to remove as much plastic pollution from the Australian coast and waterways as possible.
Ash is doing a bunch of intimate shows in regional coastal areas and within the same area they plan a beach or water way cleanup with other local clean up groups.
These will be dotted around Australia over 2019 and 2020.
