John Stevens from Kinetic Medicine educated and informed members of the Taree Probus Club at the most recent meeting.
John spoke of his role as an exercise physiologist, which is the practice of movement of joints, giving patients an alternative to medications. Those with irritating pain or respiratory conditions may only need exercise and diet changes to benefit.
John demonstrated a couple of simple and easy exercises to try at home.
John told members joints need muscles to work so exercise it is important. From his experience one third of patients with pain have three other health issues.
As an Allied Health network, Kinetic Medicine has a good working relationship with GPs, and are changing everyone's perception regarding exercise.
It was a very interesting talk. Ray Foxley thanked John on behalf of members for his contribution to the day's meeting.
