For the last three previous open garden events, the club has raised a combined $26,000 for Riding for the Disabled. On their fourth event, held May 4 and 5, 2019, they have bumped that amount to more than $30,000.
Takings have not yet been counted, but organiser Bill Lyndon said he hopes to hand over a cheque for $6000 as a result of last weekend's garden tour.
Though numbers were down a bit due to rain Bill is happy with the result.
"It was, I think, a very successful weekend. Obviously Saturday's weather kept people away, but we did have a lot of people go through on Sunday," Bill said.
"All the garden people have said they were so excited with the comments that they got about their gardens and how surprised they were. It was very worthwhile and I think everybody went away having had a good experience."
Visitors on the weekend were able to buy meals and desserts catered by members of the Riding for the Disabled, the quality of which was "excellent" Bill said.
