This follows round two held at the Bend Motorsport Park at Tailem Bend, South Australia.
Round two of the championship and the third round of the Australian Junior Road Racing Championship were run over two nights under lights during the International Motofest, along with the Australian Superbikes and the Asia road Racing Championship.
Hayden took the lead following the opening round held at Port Macquarie in March.
His dad, Craig, noted that the Australian Superbikes raced on the main track at The Bend while the Supermoto was run on the smaller go-kart circuit.
"It was a great opportunity to race at a modern world class facility on the same weekend as the Australian and Asian Superbike teams. We were able to soak up the atmosphere and watch the Superbikes during the morning before preparing for our evening of racing," Craig added.
The Nelson family were also pleased to catch-up with Troy, Kim and Oli Bayliss and watch them at work. "Even better, they came to watch the Supermoto at night and gave Hayden some support and tips during the evening," Craig said.
Hayden qualified on pole position for race one.

However he made a couple of mistakes in the dirt section but still managed to finish second behind Brayden Bradford from Townsville.
"Supermoto is a tricky discipline because compromises need to be made with tyre selection and bike set-up to accommodate for the bitumen and dirt sections of the track,'' Craig explained.
"The cool track temperature during both nights allowed us to try a different tyre in race two helped Hayden with grip on the dirt sections and to avoid costly mistakes."
Hayden then went on to win races two and three and maintain the overall lead in the series.
Brayden finished the round in second place and Jayden Martin from Perth in third place.
The third and final round of the ASMC will be held in Queensland on October 19 and 20.
