This follows the opening round at Old Bar.
Played in front of a big crowd at the Old Bar Reserve Wingham accounted for Taree City 17-14, a field goal to Danny Russell sealing the result for the Tigers. Old Bar earned their place with a hard fought 10-4 win over Forster-Tuncurry in a spoiling contest.
Old Bar led 10-0 at the break.
In the league tag games Forster-Tuncurry edged out Old Bar 8-6 while Taree City downed Wingham 12-0.
Meanwhile North Coast won three of four matches in the Country Championships round against Greater Northern at Coffs Harbour.
The Bulldogs won the Andrew Johns Cup (under 16s) 26-12 while the Laurie Daley Cup (under 18s) team retained their unbeaten record with a strong 34-12 result.
North Coast won the inaugural women's game 22-0 but Greater Northern had the final say, taking out the under 23 men's encounter 26-20.
North Coast heads to Maitland on Saturday, with the Andrew Johns Cup and Laurie Daley Cup squads to play the Newcastle Knights Development Squads while the women and under 23 men tackle Newcastle and Hunter selection. Games will be underway from 10am.
