YMCA Great Lakes and Manning have appointed Peter Sanders, silver level high performance licensed coach, as their new head squad coach at Manning Aquatic Leisure Centre.

“We are thrilled to have such a qualified and accredited coach heading our squad teams in 2019 and beyond,” YMCA Great Lakes and Taree manager Melissa Morgan said.
“Peter has an innate ability to drive young, up and coming swimmers to achieve their absolute full potential, regardless of their ability or age.”
Peter started his affiliation with YMCA Great Lakes in 1983 and subsequently became a YMCA employee in 1996. He holds numerous qualifications and is a tutor coach for NSW Swimming.
“The YMCA has helped me along the way to not only assist kids in becoming better athletes, but to become better individuals…and that’s what the Y is all about!” he said.
Peter has coached several Australian Age and NSW Country champions along with Teila Bulmer who heads tothe to the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Abu Dhabi in March ,where she will be one of 105 athletes representing Australia.
“I just love coaching kids and witnessing their journey to become the best they possibly can be,'' Peter said.
"I am extremely grateful to be able to teach and mentor my students and guide them through both the rewarding and challenging moments of swimming and life.”
