This year, under 16 representative sides from the North Coast, Mid North Coast, Hunter Valley, Tamworth, West Pennant Hills and Manly Warringah will compete across four days at venues in Taree, Chatham, Tuncurry, Old Bar and Harrington.
2018 competitors Far North Coast, Roseville and Penrith won’t make the trip this time around, with North Coast to break away from Mid North Coast to form a new side for the carnival.
Mid North Coast will be the defending champions after their thrilling one wicket win over Hunter Valley last year.
All games are played in 50 over format.
In round one, Hunter Valley take on North Coast at Tuncurry’s South Street Oval, Mid North Coast battle Manly Warringah at Chris Dempsey Oval at Old Bar and Tamworth play West Pennant Hills at Johnny Martin Oval.
Rounds two and three will be played on January 8 and 9 respectively.
Finals will be played on January 10 at Johnny Martin Oval, Cedar Party Reserve and Chatham Park.
An award presentation will follow at the Johnny Martin Oval grandstand after the grand final.
Notable names to have taken part in the carnival in the past include current Australian fast bowler Josh Hazlewood and Taree’s Nick Larkin.
Larkin is now opening batsman for NSW in the Sheffield Shield and is currently turning out for the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League.
The carnival is named after one of the founders of junior cricket in the Manning District, Stan Austin.
