The patient was treated by paramedics and helicopter’s clinical team is estimated to arrive at John Hunter at 2.10pm.
As 1.50pm today, one northbound lane remained closed, with traffic queues of up to five kilometres. A tow truck is on the scene. Motorists are warned that traffic conditions are heavy, to expect delays and to allow extra time for travel.

Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service has been called the Pacific Highway near Taree after reports of a car accident.
Just before noon today (December 28), the helicopter service responded to reports that a woman was trapped after an accident at Pampoolah near Taree.
Emergency services were already on the scene.
The accident has caused the closure of one of the northbound lanes of the Pacific Highway, between Pampoolah and Cundletown.
The Live Traffic website indicates the closure occurred just after 11am. Motorists are being warned that the traffic conditions are heavy, to expect delays and to allow extra time for travel.
Also around the same time this morning a broken down truck closed one of the northbound lanes near Coffs Harbour.
