Year 10 art students set up shop on Friday, December 14 to install artistic displays derived from their studies into street art.
Student Willow Christiansen hung her ‘sticky creature’ from a tree outside of the Taree Centrelink office.
Her project involved covering a mannequin with packing tape to create a mould.
“It’s been good seeing some people’s reactions,” Willow said.
“Some have been confused with what we’re doing but others said it was cool and creative.”
Other designs placed along the street showcased a variety of limbs and even a small dog.
Multi-coloured knitted squares were wrapped around trees and poles, in what is otherwise known as yarn bombing.
Students also put their chalk art skills to the test.
Here’s hoping the rain doesn’t wash them away too quickly.
The display ties in with MidCoast Council’s Vibrant Spaces initiative and Taree Business Chamber’s Light up the Valley project.
The student’s designs will remain in place until the new year.
