CUNDLETOWN won the Manning River District Rugby Football League (MRDRFL) first grade premiership back in 1925.
Players received a medal for their efforts. W Richardson was one of the victorious Cundle players and his medal, which is still in good condition and about the size of a 20 cent piece, is now in the possession of Sydneysider Kevin James.
“I have no idea how I came to get it,’’ he said.
Kevin would prefer the medal go to a member of W Richardson’s family.
“It’s no use to me, it’s just sitting in a draw,’’ he said.
“I put an article in the Telegraph about it a couple of years ago but I didn’t get much of a response.’’
Kevin hopes Times readers may be able to assist. He can be contacted on 0429 771 609.
If he can’t find a home for the medal Kevin thinks he’ll donate it to the Cundle and Lower Manning Historical Society.
