During the pursuit the vehicle allegedly reached speeds of more than 100km/h in built up areas, and drove on the wrong side of the Pacific Highway.
The incident began about 2pm yesterday, November 19 when police received an influx of telephone calls from concerned drivers about a Toyota Hilux ute travelling north and driving on the wrong side of the Pacific Highway.
The ute turned off the highway and travelled along Failford Road at Failford before turning on to the Lakes Way towards Tuncurry and crossing the Forster-Tuncurry bridge.
During the pursuit, which involved more than 10 marked and unmarked police vehicles, the utility ran a number of drivers off the road and side swiped the mirror of another while overtaking.
The utility drove around a number of streets before it was stopped at Head Street attempting to drive back across the Forster-Tuncurry bridge.
The women, 27-year-old from Windale and a 24-year-old from Bar Beach, were arrested after the utility was stopped by police.
The women have been charged with a number of offences spanning recent days including aggravated break and enter offences, stealing of motor vehicles, shoplifting, driving while disqualified, police pursuits, fraud and an outstanding arrest warrant.
The females were refused bail by police.
