This included Jim and Kay King, who travelled from Townsville. Others made the trip from Sydney, Newcastle and other parts of NSW.
A committee chaired by Trevor Wisemantel started organising the reunion weekend about six months ago.
“It was an outstanding success,’’ reunion committee member and club life member Bruce Yarad said.
Other reunion committee members were Dean Donovan, Carolyn and Bevan Weiley, John Pryor, Mal White, Don Hinten and Michael Cameron.
There were open days held at the surf club on Saturday and Sunday along with the function on the Saturday night. An extensive display of club memorabilia dating back to the club’s foundation year of 1928 was featured in the surf club. This has been compiled and stored by life members Bevan and Carolyn Weiley.
“It's not only a history of the surf club, it’s a history of sport in the Manning,’’ Mr Yarad said of the memorabilia.
"It really is amazing. Bevan and Carolyn have done a brilliant job.’’
Mr Yarad said there has been some initial discussion to holding another reunion in five years.
