Teachers from across the Mid North Coast were honoured for their dedication and commitment at the 2018 World Teacher’s Day awards in Port Macquarie on October 26.

The awards for excellence acknowledged the work and careers of educators from preschools through universities between Kempsey in the north to Forster in the south.
Organiser, Bron Vickers, president of the Mid North Coast region Australian College of Educators said the annual event is a moment to stop and reflect on the great work our teachers do.
The awards been celebrated for 60 years with the Mid North Coast event honouring teachers for the last 13 years.
“This is one of the only times government teachers can come together and meet alongside independent educators, our Catholic teachers, tertiary teachers and early educators,” Mrs Vickers said.
More than 120 people enjoyed the event under the trees at Little Fish Cafe with special guest Heidi O’Brien of NESA congratulating every awardee for the special role they play in the lives of local children.
The award winners for the Manning region were – Kiddies Hut at Diamond Beach – Sarah Smith; Wingham High School – Stacey Harrell; Harrington Public School – Amy Moore; and Manning Valley Anglican College – Sally Martin and Lauren Baker.
