That’s how Taree locals Steve and Sandy Morris described winning a brand new Holden Calais-V Tourer through the hit show Australian Survivor.
Collecting the code words each episode and entering the competition online Steve said he had that gut feeling he was going to win.
And win he did.
Loyal Holden people for many years their current Holden was well overdue for replacement. The 14 year old Astra even suffered a flat tyre on the way to pick up their prize.
While taking delivery of the new car at Taree Holden the Morris’ said it was overwhelming and the win still hadn’t quite sunk in.
A far cry from the old car the Morris’ are looking forward to visiting family around the State in style. They have a daughter living down Shellharbour way, “which we will be visiting shortly in my new car,” says Steve. And a son living in Queensland who they will be visiting before Christmas “in my new car.”
Steve said the good new brought tears to Sandy’s eyes. Sandy spend a couple of hours sitting in the car when they got it home, working out all the buttons, he said.
”You can turn it on from your lounge room and heat the seats or turn the air conditioner on,” says Steve, obviously impressed with the technology.
