Volunteering at Relay For Life is an exhilarating experience giving a real sense of achievement particularly.
“Cancer Council is hoping you will join our wonderful existing organising committee. There are some exciting roles to be filled,” Katie Mead, the Cancer Council’s community relations coordinator, said.
“We are looking for more helpers to make it an amazing community event. Help is required with all aspects of the relay and we encourage you to bring some great new ideas to improve our 2019 relay.
“We are calling for people with lots of enthusiasm so if this applies to you, and you can spare a few hours a month to join the committee, we would be truly appreciative,” Julie Blanch, the volunteer committee chair said. “If we work together, great things can be achieved.”

The next Manning Valley Relay For Life will be held at Club Taree over 24 hours from 10am Saturday May 4 through until 10am Sunday, May 5.
Money raised from this key event supports cancer research, financial support, transport to treatment and Cancer Council information services in Manning Valley.
“Cancer Council’s Transport to Treatment service completed 487 trips last year for cancer patients and their carers and travelled more than 51,000 kilometres. Without fundraisers like Relay For Life, this free service would not operate in the Manning Valley,” Katie said.
“Relay is fun, it’s fulfilling and your support helps bring us closer to a cancer free future.”
