The school will host the Flying Fox Mobile Preschool each Tuesday and according to school principal, Lyn Schneider, the community-based not-for-profit preschool is a great way to promote the school and says “we look forward to running the preschool here one day a week. She is encouraging the school community to share news of the services as it needs a minimum of five students each week.

The school is also promoting its kindergarten orientation days for students preparing to begin school in 2019. It will host six transition sessions in term four. The sessions will be on Tuesday afternoons and will be held on October 23 and 30, and November 6, 13, 20 and 27. During their sessions, students will take part in a range of school activities and on the first transition day, October 23, parents are invited to stay from 1pm to 1.30pm to talk to Mrs Schneider.
Moorland Public School also recently awarded Ava Brandon the title of ‘Student of the Week’ for making a new student feel welcome, and merit awards for safety were also given to Sam Watts of class 4-6J and Jane Rawson-Beard of class K-3W.
