MidCoast Council Mayor David West was thrilled with the collaboration between local sculptor Lee Black, the Rotary Club of Taree on Manning’s Sunrise Group, Uncle Russell Saunders, Family and Community Services, Manning River Steel, TransGrid and council.
“The community connection would fail without groups like Rotary,” Mayor West said.
Rotary Club of Taree on Manning’s Ken Raison said the shelters are a great addition to the playground.
”It’s functional and creative,” Mr Raison said.
“It’s a community asset and the process has brought lots of people together.”
A plaque was unveiled at the park inscribed with all parties involved with the project.
The Rotary club will now turn its attention to the construction of a riverstage.
