Crews attended to bush land near Keith Coleman Drive, Taree on Wednesday, September 19 where they uncovered a python caught up in the fire.
They ensured the python reached safety and its home was saved.
As it was difficult to access, it took the crew more than one hour to extinguish the fire.
The crew posted on Facebook that “even small fires can impact the community and/or our environment”.
Residents are reminded to call Triple Zero (000) to report any new or unattended fires.
