The 2018 Blues and BBQ Festival will excite the tastebuds of all Mid North Coast meat lovers this weekend with a huge line-up of delicious fare and funky music on the menu.
The festival plays host to the largest barbecue competition in Australia, the Buffalo Trace Australian Barbecue Wars.
Nearly 100 teams will descend on Port Macquarie for a fun-filled, exciting weekend of competitive barbecue sanctioned by the Australasian Barbecue Alliance.
One of these teams is Manning Valley Natural Smokers, who stunned hundreds of US-based competitors in the World Championship Barbecue Competition held in Houston, Texas in February 2018.
Grant Coleman, general manager at Wingham Beef Exports, led a team of six Australians, taking on seasoned veterans from the US competitive barbecue circuit, to finish with the runner-up trophy in the coveted brisket division.
This year, the event will also feature a Steak Cook-off sanctioned competition featuring steak, burgers, wings and tacos.
All the sizzling action happens on the grounds of the Breakwall Holiday Park, with gates open to the public from 4pm today.
Together with the competitions, the Town Green will host an authentic line-up of low and slow style barbecue vendors, live music and craft beer by Six String Brewery from 11am tomorrow.
The entertainment line-up features the Sweet Jelly Rolls, Little Quirks, Mike and Roxy, Nanna Klumpp and Frank Sultana.
