Donations to Taree and District Eisteddfod Society, Taree Artists Inc and various schools were made at the Taree Literary Institute’s 154th annual general meeting.

President Brian Crisp reported that the institute was operating successfully. The donations included $3300 to the eisteddfod society and $250 to Taree Artists, with a total of $375 going to schools.
Gary Masters submitted his resignation as he and his wife are relocating. He has been a member of the committee since 2002 and his input has been appreciated, Mr Crisp said.
The library continues to grow with both members and books.
A total of 573 books were purchased in the last 12 months – 374 fiction, 14 non fiction, 175 large print and 10 junior.
Included in this number are all the latest best sellers and in the large print section are westerns, mystery and romance.

Several magazines are also subscribed to including Australian Geographic.
Some members are taking advantage of the DVD collection only but many take books as well as DVDs.
Mr Crisp thanked Mrs Kylie Attard who runs the library with assistants Mrs Robyn Lacey and Miss Samantha Everett when Robyn was on holidays. Volunteers are Mrs Lindy Booth (Wednesdays and Thursdays), Mrs Carol Emerton and Mrs Suzanne Booth when needed.
Committee members are president Brian Crisp, vice president Bob Crossman, secretary Mrs Susanne Booth, treasurer and librarian Mrs Kylie Attard, committee Mrs Sandra Saad, Mrs Helen Mitchell, Mrs Donna Bolte, Miss Samantha Everett, Dave Rush, Keith Gibbs and Peter Smith.
Trustees of the institute are Brian Crisp, Keith Gibbs and Bob Crossman.
