The garden recently relocated from its site in Wynter Street to the grounds of Taree PCYC in Commerce Street, and following significant community support from individuals and businesses, its infrastructure is almost fully reassembled and is now ready for planting.
Garden spokesperson Bree Katsamangos is keen for the community to visit the garden in its new location and invites people to visit this Sunday between 10am and 12.30pm.

“This week the road repairs for the PCYC will be complete and our move has timed in beautifully, as we have been able to plumb our water supply under the new road. With water to become available by the end of the week, we can begin planting for spring,” Bree said.
Bree said the event this Sunday will involve helping to plant seedings donated by Bunnings and general garden maintenance jobs.
“We were absolutely delighted when Bunnings got in touch and asked if they could support us in this way. They always have beautiful, healthy plant stock and it will complement some of the seedlings being propagated by our volunteers.
“We also have some more ground beds to construct and Bunnings have kindly offered to donate the 12 bags of quick set concrete we will need to complete them. Using the existing timber from the other site, we will now be able to construct these beds at no cost to the garden. These low line beds will be built to house pollination plants or bee attracting plants as well as ground crops like potatoes and sweet potatoes”.
“Bunnings contribution is a great extension of the generosity of the whole community in having the garden moved and re-settled.
“Come-along – this is the fun part! It’s also a great opportunity to get your kids grubby!
“Wear sturdy enclosed shoes, bring a hat, water and your mug and thermos for morning tea.”
