Today was the first round match of the Minor Singles Championship which did not disappoint between the two competitive bowlers of Lorraine Parnell and Jo Duncan. It was eight all on 11th end but Lorraine picked up the all important one-pointers over next six ends. They were still neck and neck on the 26th end, 17/16 when disaster struck for Jo on the 14th end dropping a four-pointer.

Not to be outdone, Jo fought to put on five points in last three ends but sadly it was not enough with Lorraine taking the win by four shots, with the result being 25/21. Congratulations to you both on displaying good sportsmanship in this match.

Special mention
We lassoed two travelling bowlers, Rhonda and Daniel – Mr. “Have a Chat” – who are travelling around Australia. Their mission is to bowl at as many little bowling clubs around our beautiful country with their black Staffy dog named Sarg. Next stop is to Old Bar and Manning Point BC. We can honestly say they made our day with tales of their adventures and friendly personalities. They stayed for lunch and camped down at Wingham Brush in their re-vamped Mr Whippy van.
