Omnicare Alliance’s regional dementia conference committee has announced abstract submissions are open for The RED Conference, A Regional Experience in Practical Dementia Care.
Abstracts for both plenary and workshops are being sought across nine categories under the overall theme of living well with dementia.
Categories include innovative approaches to dementia care, wellbeing and therapeutic practices, creative arts, engagement and the voices of people living with dementia.
Submissions should lead and inform delegates on innovative and practical ways which can support people to live well with dementia, both in the home and in care environments, with a preferred focus on regional areas.
Allied health professionals, residential and community care professionals, recreation activities officers, general practitioners, academics, researchers, people living with dementia and carers are all invited to submit an abstract by August 31.
The second regional dementia conference will run from March 28 to 29, 2019 at Sails Port Macquarie by Rydges.
The conference is open to anyone with an interest in the field of dementia, in the care of people living with dementia and for those living with dementia.
The 2019 regional dementia conference has expanded to two days since the inaugural conference in 2017.
The Port Macquarie state electorate has the second highest dementia prevalence rate in the state with 2295 people diagnosed with the disease.
