What happened to Elands, Bulga and Comboyne?
Our backdrop becomes a problem as it is the ocean that is the main attraction and the hinterland becomes a thought thereafter.
Where are the tourist apartments in the mountains?
The ergonomics of this region is retirement and enjoying the 'grey' years after a hard working life.
We have, unfortunately, lost most of our manufacturing and have become a services community which includes tourism.
What is it that we all look forward to after a hard days work - young or old - a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere is just one suggestion?
The CSIRO, many years ago, did a study on the best area to live in Australia and guess where it was deemed to be and that being the Mid North Coast and that is why the 'Grey Army' see this as a natural, relaxing, peaceful and not expensive area in which to retire.
This area was declared from Tea Gardens to Coffs Harbour/Woolgoolga.
So, why don't we apply something along those lines as a name tag to excite those just looking for a break from the mundane.
The Relax Coast - The Peace Coast - The Mountain Coast - The Water Coast - The Lakes and Rivers Coast - The Silver Coast - Paradise - Retirement Heaven - Grey Army Land - Eden - The Nature Coast - God's Own - Shambhala etc etc.
My choice here is 'The Nature Coast' as we simply have it all in a neat package of mountains, rivers, lakes and ocean.
Nobody else along the entire Eastern Seaboard has all of this as we fortunately do here and this is the natural message to send to people that we are demonstrating 'Nature' very much in this area at its very best - God's Own.
