Year four students and Bunnings team members planted shrubs around the school to create a garden.
School principal Nigel Sherrard said the project taught students the importance of nature.
“It was great for the kids to get out in the fresh air and help plant the trees,” Mr Sherrard said.
“The birds and wildlife will enjoy it when the trees get a bit bigger and the flowers grow.”
School Tree Day is an annual event where trees are planted in school grounds or community areas.
About 3000 schools nationwide take part in the event each year.
The day can mark the beginning of a long-term environmental program and is a reminder of the importance of nature in our daily lives.
