From Live Traffic NSW 1.33pm: Motorists travelling along the Pacific Highway near The Lakes Way turn-off to Forster-Tuncurry are continuing to experience delays following this morning’s accident.
A contra flow has been put in place to enable traffic in both directions to pass the accident site.
EARLIER:
Motorists travelling south on the Pacific Highway near Rainbow Flat could experience delays as emergency services undertake a vehicle recovery operation.
Earlier this morning, July 31 a 35-year-old truck driver was airlifted to John Hunter Hospital, Newcastle after the prime mover he was driving left the highway and crashed into trees near The Lakes Way turn-off to Forster-Tuncurry.
Live Traffic NSW has advised motorists to exercise caution and lower speed limit to 40km/h. One north-bound lane is close.
Motorists travelling towards Forster-Tuncurry are advised to take the Failford Road turn-off.
The accident occurred at approximately 6.30am.
