Council's director of corporate and business systems, Steve Embry, says the move will allow teams to integrate services more efficiently and brings teams together to provide better customer service.
This follows the relocation of the water services division’s customer services team into the council offices in Taree and Forster in April.
Around 35 employees have moved from Muldoon Street to Pulteney Street, with Mr Embry indicating there would be no reductions in employment of staff as a result in the move.
Council has now leased the Muldoon Street office to the Manning Police Local Area Command, for use while the Taree police station undergoes a major upgrade.
"Water services will continue to use the depot part of the site for council operations," Mr Embry said.
According to NSW Police, they are committed to supporting the local community and appreciate the level of cooperation from both the mayor and council in supporting the temporary relocation to Muldoon Street.
